ZSS Centre Grinding and Lapping Machine

Klein Maschinenbau produces market-leading center grinding machines designed to restore the geometric accuracy of center bores that have been distorted during heat treatment. After hardening, center holes are typically out-of-round, oval, scaled, and misaligned, compromising the accuracy of all subsequent between-centers machining operations.

The Klein ZSS centre grinding machines correct these defects by precision grinding the center bore geometry to specification, re-establishing the geometric reference that all downstream turning and cylindrical grinding operations depend upon. The accuracy of the finished center bore directly determines the achievable roundness, concentricity, and total indicated runout of the final workpiece.

The product range includes centering machines, center hole grinders, and special-purpose constructions for specific industrial applications. As of 2025, the Klein center grinding machine product line has been integrated into Henninger GmbH, which continues to manufacture and support the complete range from their Straubenhardt facility.
