The Affolter AF110 plus is the most advanced model in the AF series, featuring 8 CNC axes and the proprietary Affolter Leste control system capable of managing up to 12 axes simultaneously. The machine handles micro gear cutting across a wide module range from DP 17 to DP 1270, covering spur, helical, frontal, bevel, and crown gears in a single platform.
The newly developed worm screw power skiving (WSPS) technology enables the workpiece to rotate at extremely high speeds up to 12,000 RPM while the cutter turns at a fraction of that rate. This combination of speed and stiffness produces superior surface finishes and tighter tolerances than conventional hobbing methods.
Typical applications include watchmaking components, medical instrument gears, aerospace actuator gears, and automotive sensor assemblies.
